The Cheltenham Fire Company is responsible for fire protection and rescue services in the 4th fire district of Cheltenham Township in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. We provide mutual aid to surrounding companies in Cheltenham Township as well as Rockledge Borough and Abington Township. Our membership consists of Active Firefighting members, Junior Firefighters, Active Non-Firefighting members and a Limited Active Membership. Our members are 100% volunteer and consist of men and women dedicated to public safety.
We run approximately 200 calls per year and conduct in-house drill on Thursday or Friday nights. The CFC has three trucks: Engine 4, Tower 4, and Squad 4. These 3 trucks allow us to handle a multitude of incidents including fire suprression, search and rescue, ladder operations, vehicle/water/high and low angle rescues. We also provide assistance to local EMS agencies with Squad 4, being licenced with the PA department of health as a quick responce service (QRS).
In 2013 we finished a building project which added a 4th truck bay, 2nd floor with offices, bunkrooms, and a meeting room, which all gave much-needed space for the continued operation of the fire company.
